Thursdays, April 4-25 from 1:00p to 2:30p
Over the course of centuries, various schools of yoga philosophy have focused on particular aspects or threads of philosophical belief and specific practices that illuminate them. In the book The Heart of the Yogi, Doug Keller calls these “various stages or phases in the unfolding of Consciousness—both knowing and as self-knowing…. The differences between the systems and schools depends upon the aspects of consciousness in our experience with which we most identify; for instance, some of us tend to identify with the physical as the real, while others identify with various levels of inner experience—whether of the mind, intellect and so on.” In this book group, we will read The Heart of the Yogi and meet in a video conference room on four consecutive Thursdays at 1:00 to discuss it. The text is required reading for students in the 300-hour Teacher Training program and participation in the book group counts toward graduation. All other interested readers are welcome.
