Ever feel like your emotions are running the show? Maybe you experience a certain emotion over and over and feel locked in a reactive habit loop with it? Or maybe you wonder why you’re experiencing a certain emotion at this point in your life. Perhaps there’s an emotion that’s been largely absent in your life that you’d like to start to get to know. Whatever your reasons, in this series, we’ll practice meeting emotions with curiosity and with a willingness to be be with what is – allowing them to reveal whatever wisdom is meant to be known at this time.
Through the 6 week course we’ll explore emotions using three specific tools of yoga and meditative inquiry. You might explore the same emotion throughout or choose a different one to work with each week - it’s completely up to you. The framework: we’ll begin by laying the groundwork of mindfulness in weeks 1 and 2, next we’ll dive into practices focused on emotions for weeks 3, 4 and 5 and finally use week 6 to integrate.
This series will include some time for journaling and for sharing reflections with the class as well as suggested take-home explorations.
