This class will explore the energetic and felt sensory experience in the body through breath, meditation and art. We will cycle through periods of guided meditation and mindful watercolor painting, opening to new creative possibilities in our bodies and on paper. No prior art or meditation experience required.
Marica Miller Shares: If you ever thought (or someone told you) that you are not an artist, then this is the workshop for you. If you can breathe and hold a paint brush then you can make art with Katie as your guide. Her presence and instructions are just what you need to let go of fear and judgment about yourself and your ability to make art. I have worked with her several times and each time felt such exhilaration, freedom and joy. In one of my paintings I also discovered a deep message that is still helping me to live one of my highest values. AND, if you already know yourself to be an artist then this workshop will be pure bliss for you too!
Katie Whitsett holds a BA in Studio Art from Hanover College and is currently working with watercolors and more recently ceramics. She has melded her art and yoga lineages using art and meditation as mediums for exploring breath, energy, and the innate beauty that is within each of us.
