Stella’s first experience with yoga happened after a visit to the doctor in 2003. She was grinding her teeth in her sleep and thought she would need a mouth guard. Her doctor prescribed the following: 1) Stop drinking coffee; 2) Stop chewing gum; and 3) Find an activity that relieves stress. She ignored the first two and signed up for a free yoga class.
Stella has completed Yoga on High's 200-hour Teacher Training Program (2009) as well as the 300-hour program (2015). She teaches Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Aerial Yoga, and she occasionally subs an iRest Yoga Nidra or Hatha class. Stella comes up with her best and mediocre ideas while practicing Ashtanga and Vinyasa, faces her fears and feeds her inner child in Aerial Yoga, and welcomes the positive and negative tornado of thoughts and emotions in iRest Yoga Nidra.
Stella learns the most from her students. Her mission is to inspire curiosity, creativity and intuition. She believes that your body is your most knowledgeable teacher and she strives to help her students explore and build this connection.
Off the mat, Stella practices aerial arts on trapeze, silks and lyra hoop. She is a Level 1 Thai Yoga practitioner. She seeks ways of incorporating yoga into her daily life: from doing the dishes to communicating with others, and trying to save the world. Other than that, you may catch her walking her dog or scootering around Clintonville.
