Janet Braden

Janet, E-RYT 500, was first introduced to yoga in 1993 by her modern dance teacher and was amazed by the effects that these movements had on her – a quieter mind, a body more balanced and a spirit more joyful.

Wanting to share the benefits of yoga with others, she began teaching classes in the Columbus area in 2006 after receiving her Yogafit Certification.  In 2008, Janet became a Stott Pilates Certified Instructor in Mat & Reformer. She completed her 200-hour Hatha Certification in 2009, was attuned to Reiki Level 1 in 2011 and completed her 300-hour advanced program in 2013, all through Yoga on High. In 2014, she became a Total Barre Qualified Instructor through Merrithew.

Janet’s background in body work from different perspectives—yoga, dance, Pilates—lends a richness to her classes, but it’s her dedication to her practice and to the experience each student has in every class that shines through her teaching. Every class is very well prepared, thought out to the last detail, but, with all the tools in her kit, she can easily modify poses or class plans to accommodate a student’s needs. You will see that attention to detail in all she does. In her classes,  she encourages her students to tune in, breathe and find joy in movement while moving mindfully.  Proper alignment is emphasized as well as balancing effort and surrender in order to cultivate a practice that nurtures.  She hopes for her students to find a greater sense of well-being, both inside and out.
