iRest is an evidence-based practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry that releases negative emotions and thought patterns, calms the nervous system and restores a deep sense of well-being and equanimity. Extensive research has shown that iRest effectively:
- Reduces post-traumatic stress disorder
- Reduces depression, fear and anxiety
- Reduces insomnia and sleep disturbances
- Reduces chronic and acute pain
- Improves the ability to relax and enjoy life
- Improves personal relationships
- Improves resiliency and coping skills
- Increases inner peace and well-being
It is an adjunctive treatment that has been integrated into veteran rehabilitation settings, homeless shelters, hospitals and clinics, hospice, schools and wellness and meditation centers.
Level-1 training is designed to provide you with the basic principles, history, theory, practice and delivery of iRest. This will allow you to incorporate the 10-step iRest protocol into your personal life, professional teaching or clinical practice.
